Begin with an honest step.
You don’t need to have your future figured out to begin. Perhaps a question about your vocation keeps returning. Perhaps you’re simply curious. You can bring those questions to prayer and conversation.

Learn to listen.
Discernment means learning to recognize how God is calling you to love and serve. It takes time, honesty and the help of others.
Pray
Set aside a few quiet minutes each day. Read a Gospel passage and speak honestly with Jesus about your hopes, questions and fears. Stay close to the sacraments.
Serve
Help in your parish or community. Notice where you encounter Christ in others and where you are learning to give generously.
Talk
Speak with a trusted priest, religious sister or brother, or spiritual director. You can also contact the Vocations Office with a simple question.
Visit
Ask about opportunities to meet people living the vocation you are considering. Seeing their daily prayer, work and community life can help you understand the path.
